The State Office for Industrial Property signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Faculty of Law "Iustinianus Primus" - Skopje, St. Cyril and Methodius ”in Skopje. The signing of this mutual cooperation occurs due to the need to intensify education in the field of intellectual property, as well as raising awareness and effective implementation of the protection of intellectual property rights.
"This Memorandum of Cooperation enables second cycle students, as well as former students from master studies in intellectual property law to volunteer and hold internships at the State Office of Industrial Property to advance their further development. This volunteering will help students to professionally improve their knowledge through real developments and assistance from SOIP employees ", said Goran Gerasimovski, Director of SOIP.
Gerasimovski also noted that students who will volunteer at the State Office of Industrial Property will attend training and educational and application projects within the activities of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office ( EUIPO), the European Patent Office(EPO) and their academies, as well as other national and international organizations and institutions.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law "Iustinianus Primus" Sasho Georgievski, said that the Memorandum of Cooperation includes cooperation in the field of education, training, providing expert assistance in the development and implementation of certain projects, contribution to the publication of professional and scientific papers, analysis, proposals, as well as other forms of exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of research and development of common interest.
"This is a real benefit for both undergraduate and former master students in intellectual property law to work under the supervision and guidance of responsible persons and share experiences with SOIP staff." During the practical hours, the activity will be improved and the staff in the field of intellectual property rights and related fields will be trained, "Georgievski said.
The memorandum of cooperation between the two institutions includes the participation of professional staff from SOIP in the teaching process, ie teaching at the Faculty of Law in terms of cooperation and implementation of the teaching-scientific process. The aim is to increase and advance the scientific research activity and the application of higher education.
