The WIPO Academy is pleased to announce the organization of the Regional IP Youth Camp for Balkan Countries, scheduled to take place from 23–26 June 2026.
This initiative is designed to empower young participants aged 18–22 from across the Balkan region, including university students, early-stage innovators, and aspiring entrepreneurs. The camp will focus on creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property (IP), offering comprehensive coverage of all areas of IP with a strong emphasis on practical, innovation-driven applications.
Program Details:
- Dates: 23–26 June 2026
- Target Audience: Young participants (18–22 years old) from the Balkan region
- Focus Areas: Creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property
- Working Language: English (participants are expected to have good proficiency)
Participants from the following countries:
- North Macedonia: 15 participants
- Albania: 20 participants
- Montenegro: 15 participants
The IP Youth Camp is typically delivered through a two-phase model:
- Phase 1 – Online Preparation (3–4 weeks, mandatory)
Participants complete a short online preparatory phase covering:
- Self-pace course on Basic concepts of intellectual property (copyright, patents, trademarks, industrial designs)
- One online workshop (3–4 hours) on IP fundamentals
- Short quizzes or reflective exercises to ensure readiness for the in-person phase
- Phase 2 – In-Person IP Youth Camp (3–4 days)
The in-person camp focuses on application and practice, including:
- Problem identification and ideation exercises
- Innovation challenges based on real-life and local problems
- Performance and presentation of artistic works and introduction to related rights
- Introduction to prior art and originality concepts
- Team pitching sessions with structured feedback
The Regional IP Youth Camp will provide a unique platform for young minds to explore the role of intellectual property in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, while strengthening regional collaboration and building cross-border networks among future leaders.
