26th of April, the World Intellectual Property Day, was marked by the State Office of Industrial Property of the Republic of North Macedonia with a series of activities. The traditional manifestation "Patent of the Year - 2018" was hold . At the event participated inventors, representatives of the IPR and other representatives directly or indirectly involved in the process of protection of intellectual property rights.
In the welcoming speech, the Deputy Director of the Office, Goran Gerasimovski addressed the guests and presented the latest activities in the field of industrial property as well as pointed out the future activities that will be undertaken for improving the work of the Office as well as the activities that the Office will undertake in order to raise public awareness of the significance and benefits of industrial property rights and the strengthening the inter institutional cooperation within the system of the Intellectual Property Rights .
The traditional award "Patent of the Year - 2018" was granted to the inventor Petar Indovski for the invention "Probe for measurement of the penetration of water through the soil and humidity vertical profiles". The inventor, Mr. Indovski addressed the present guests and presented his invention as the application of the same.
Also at this manifestation, the Deputy director of the Office, Mr. Goran Gerasimovski, distributed the awards to the Macedonian women inventors won at the International exhibition of women inventors "KIWIE 2018" and the prizes won by the inventors in the international fair of innovations and innovation technologies ARKIMED 2019 that was held in Moscow.
Also, during the celebration of the April 26 - World Intellectual Property Day, a campaign for promotion of industrial property rights as well as raising public awareness about the importance and benefits of protection of industrial property rights was conducted. Within the campaign, two stands were set up, on the Macedonia square in Skopje, as well as in Skopje City Mall. Promotional materials were distributed at the stands, information on industrial property rights was given, as well as responded to the large number of questions of interested citizens.
