SOIP joins DesignClass

North Macedonia, ARIPO, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova and Serbia have decided to use the list of terms from the harmonised database of product indications in DesignClass

As of 30 September 2019, The State Office of Industrial Property of the Republic of North Macedonia (SOIP), The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), The Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IIP-BIH), The National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia (Sakpatenti), The State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) and The Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia (IPORS) have decided to use the harmonised database of product indications (HDBPI) in DesignClass.

As a result, these are the first six IP offices outside the European Union (EU) that will use terms from HDBPI, which is one of the expected outcomes of EUIPO’s strategic project, “Extension of tools”, managed by its International Cooperation Area. This project aims at extending the reach of tools from The European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN) beyond the EU for the benefit of the global users.

With the extension of reach of HDBPI to  SOIP, ARIPO, IIP-BIH, Sakpatenti, AGEPI and IPORS, DesignClass now offers users the opportunity to search and translate more than 12.000 harmonised concepts in 27 languages from 30 IP offices.
